Pride of Guernsey: Debbie Robilliard

SPECIALIST nurse Debbie Robilliard is believed to look after around 400 people suffering from multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and Parkinson’s.

Her nomination for the Ravenscroft-sponsored Angel of the Year Award has come from Mark Windsor on behalf of his sister, Trudy Shannon.

‘Debbie is highly knowledgeable about her patients’ conditions and unflinchingly selfless and endlessly patient in seeking the best medical and physical help for them.

‘She never stops caring for her patients and is sympathetic but always practical and upbeat. She is virtually rushed off her feet every day of her working life.

‘With so many patients on her caseload – there really should be another one or two specialist nurses alongside her – it’s hard for her to be there for everyone, but she does her best and always somehow manages to make time for people.

‘No stranger to tragedy herself, she is truly an angel, hiding away from the limelight working for the people she cares so much about.

Debbie is also a loving mum to two children.

‘She thoroughly deserves the recognition.’
