At THE heart of our community... the Neighbour of the Year Award.

Guernsey Gas has been an important part of the island’s community for almost 200 years.

With a well-trained workforce of almost 60 people, we understand the importance of delivering a warm and friendly service to every one of our customers, who expect the same.

We provide homes and business communities with comfortable, reliable and efficient home heating solutions, supported by a well-trained team of people working around the clock to put our customers at the heart of everything we do. Our longer-term vision recognises the need to invest in alternative energies as well as to protect and improve our natural environment, so we are actively exploring alternative power generation options. We want to make a positive contribution to Guernsey life and have a proactive community programme that is working hard to help islanders – and especially those who find themselves in vulnerable situations.

The Neighbour of the Year Award specifically recognises the importance of our community, and our ‘good neighbours’ – those people whose good deeds, companionship, care and assistance often make a crucial difference to the well-being of other more vulnerable islanders. These are the people that real communities are made from – genuine heroes who make a significant difference to the lives of others.

We want to recognise these special people because they matter. And because they are important, their good deeds should not go unnoticed.

We’d like your help to shine the light on someone you think deserves this accolade. So please keep your eyes and ears open, and share your own ‘good neighbour’ stories by nominating those who you feel are worthy of the honour.
