MIKE ROBIN has been nominated for this year’s Specsavers-sponsored Carer of the Year Award.

Mr Robin was nominated by two students at Notre Dame, the school at which he is the caretaker.

Abi and Zac Mallett said that without Mr Robin the school would not run as effectively as it does.

‘He is there to meet the students in the infants every morning and he knows them all by name,’ they said.

‘Mr Robin is also the DJ for the school discos and goes along on school trips.’

Both students and their parents think Mr Robin is great and does a fantastic job at the school.

Not only does Mr Robin make the children feel safe as they cross the road to school in the morning, he goes above and beyond in his duties by trying to bring more facilities to the school, such as a craft, design and technology room.

Abi and Zac’s mum Lucy Mallett said Mr Robin has been great since the day her children started at the school.

‘He’s always there making jokes with the children and no matter what mood they’re in when they go to school, he always has them smiling.’

She said the amount of gifts he gets at the end of term from the children is testament to how much he is appreciated and respected.
