NATALIE WEIGHTMAN has been nominated by one of her students for this year’s Teacher of the Year Award.

‘Miss Weightman goes above and beyond for her students at all times,’ said nominator Dillen Mare, who has been taught by Miss Weightman at both GCSE and AS-level.

The Grammar School and Sixth Form Centre teacher is head of philosophy, RS and ethics.

‘Miss Weightman has managed to get me from a D grade at the start to now achieving one of the highest grades in my class,’ Dillen said.

‘She always prints out revision booklets for every little topic to help us with our revision.’

Dillen also said Miss Weightman takes time out of her own schedule to talk students through anything they are confused about, no matter how small or large the subject might be.

‘Plus, her feedback is always straight to the point and explicit so that we know exactly how to improve on our work for next time.

‘She is easily the best teacher and is also a brilliant person with an amazing personality so I think she seriously deserves to win this award,’ she said.
