PALLIATIVE CARE nurse Kath Williamson whose work went ‘above and beyond’ has been nominated for the Angel of the Year Award.

Her name has been put forward for the Ravenscroft-sponsored award by Kelly Warren, the daughter of one of her patients.

‘I think Kath should win this because she has a heart of gold and she helped my mother who was really poorly,’ said Mrs Warren.

‘She went above and beyond to help my mum and us. She helped with things mum needed at home and got what mum needed within hours.’

But it was more than just treating Mrs Warren’s mum when she was attending Bulstrode House: ‘When mum went into hospital Kath went out of her way to check in on mum and also kept a check on the family,’ she said.

‘When my mum passed away Kath called me a couple of times to make sure we were OK. That meant a lot and also shows she has a heart of gold and cares about the people she looks after.’

Nothing was ever too much trouble, she said: ‘I think she needs to know that after looking after ill people that the families are grateful.

‘I can’t thank Kath enough for everything she did for my mum.’
