Pride of Guernsey: Island Scaffolding

DAN DE GARIS and ‘the boys’ at Island Scaffolding have been nominated by multiple people for their help in ‘putting the biggest smile on grandpa’s face’.

They have been nominated for the Alexander Daniels-sponsored Customer Service of the Year Award after they built a ramp for an ill family member who could not leave the house due to being wheelchair-bound.

‘We called Danny late one Sunday afternoon and explained the situation; Danny instantly said don’t worry, my boys will be there first thing in the morning to sort something out.’

‘As grandpa was a Scout for decades, being outside again made his last days a time to remember – he sat outside with a big smile on his face, all down to Island Scaffolding.

‘I am not sure Danny realises how much we appreciate what he did and the fact he made his last few weeks that little bit brighter.’

The nominees said that Dan and the team deserve more credit than they could give.

‘A gesture like this from a company which expects nothing in return should be shared island-wide.’
