Arts contribution: Marilyn Pugh

SKILL, versatility and commitment to her craft are three qualities that local musician and teacher Marilyn Pugh possesses. Three reasons, obviously, that inspired Stephen Rouxel to nominate Marilyn for the Moonpig-sponsored Arts Contributor of the Year award.

SKILL, versatility and commitment to her craft are three qualities that local musician and teacher Marilyn Pugh possesses. Three reasons, obviously, that inspired Stephen Rouxel to nominate Marilyn for the Moonpig-sponsored Arts Contributor of the Year award.

‘Whether it’s as musical director of countless musicals – most recently Evoke’s Anything Goes – the countless hours with Alderney Voices, flying in every week, Guernsey Chamber Choir, Guilbert and Sullivan, teaching, the thousands of hours in the Eisteddfod every year or leading The Accidentals – her invitation choir – to victory both locally and at international events such as the Mrs Sunderland Festival at Huddersfield Town Hall, Maz Pugh has been for years an arts champ.’

Who could possible argue?

‘I am very pleased – and surprised – to have been nominated,’ said Marilyn before travelling over to Alderney once again.
