‘A GREAT PERFORMER’ is the opening statement of Roy Sarre’s glowing recommendation for Oscar Pearson. The radio presenter is being nominated for the Moonpig-sponsored Arts Contributor of the Year award.

Roy, a choir leader and musician (and no mean performer himself), goes on to say: ‘Oscar is an artist of much ability and of considerable value every weekday for four hours each morning on BBC Radio Guernsey. The station’s standards are still demanding and no one can deny Oscar’s ease of projecting his heart, soul and attractive male vocal tones over the airwaves every day.’

He also praised the presenter’s technique.

‘He uses the microphone efficiently and he speaks intelligently. He is a natural entertainer, humourist and gets all his stories across with pathos and sensitivity, speaks to the heart of the matter every time. He’s still young, but he’s masterfully reaching thousands.’
