Customer Service of the Year: Guernsey Post

GUERNSEY POST’S cheery workers through lockdown is what inspired one islander to nominate the company for the Cherry Godfrey-sponsored Customer Service of the Year award.

Rosemary Farish said Guernsey Post had been a lifeline for islanders, particularly those like her and her husband who were in full isolation and not seeing anybody.

‘Through the whole of the time that we were in the Covid lockdown, they were still delivering very efficiently, even though the demand and pressure on the company was very great,’ she said.

‘The posties were always so polite and cheerful when they were delivering our packages and – because we had to reduce contact with everyone – they would give a knock on the door to let us know they’d been and a wave through the window if we saw them.’

The nominator was also impressed with how quickly post managed to get from Guernsey to the UK, much faster than what the UK post achieved in getting letters and packages to Guernsey.

‘The whole team seem highly efficient, always smiling and cheerful, and got us through lockdown.’
