DR NICOLA BRINK has been nominated for the Ravenscroft-sponsored Angel of the Year award for her work as the director of public health for Guernsey and Alderney.

‘She helped us all to get our jabs. She spoke like an angel to us all,’ said Frederick Wilson, who nominated Dr Brink.

Mr Wilson, who has received both of his vaccinations, continued: ‘I think Dr Brink is a marvellous person, she is always so calm when she talks.’

Dr Brink said: ‘I am honoured and humbled to receive this nomination. The Covid-19 response and the vaccination programme is a huge team effort and everyone has worked together across the whole of the Bailiwick to get us to where we are.

‘I am so grateful for the amazing support that I have received in these unprecedented times.’

In 2020, Dr Brink was made an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for her handling of the Covid-19 pandemic in Guernsey.

The Covid-19 Vaccination Centre also received a separate nomination for Angel of the Year for its efforts in vaccinating the local population.
