Carer of the Year: Michelle Shell

MICHELLE SHELL has received several nominations for the Specsavers-sponsored Carer of the Year award for epitomising the phrase ‘going the extra mile’.

MICHELLE SHELL has received several nominations for the Specsavers-sponsored Carer of the Year award for epitomising the phrase ‘going the extra mile’.

Michelle is a carer at Le Grand Courtil and has been working there for seven years.

Resident Lucette Le Noury said: ‘Michelle gives her all to the job. She is never too tired to help us. There is never too much for her to do. 

‘I trust her very much, she is a lovely person.’

Camille Pham said: ‘Michelle has been caring for my grandparents since they moved into Le Grand Courtil. She has always gone out of her way for them and all the residents, helping them in any way that she can and always going the extra mile. She is always cheerful and brings a smile to their day.’

Michelle has been a carer for 27 years in total. She said: ‘Looking after people is the best part of my job.’

Vikki Barlow said: ‘This lady looks after my nan and pop on a regular basis at Le Grand Courtil. She is very kind and helpful and makes my nan’s life easier when looking after my pop. Any time she is in, she brightens up their day.’
