Chateau Du Village Nursing Home has been nominated for the Carer of the Year award

‘AS FOR most families, it wasn’t an easy option for my dad to go into a car home. 

'However, I contacted Chateau Du Village who accepted him straight away and I cannot thank all the staff enough for their care and kindness,’ said one of their three nominators, Wendy Le Tissier. 

‘We couldn’t have asked for better. All the weight has been taken off my shoulders.

‘Dad not only has mobility issues but is blind and he has to be fed all his meals.

‘But nothing’s too much trouble. 

'They’re always telling him what to do because he can’t see what’s going on, obviously. 

‘They let him know when there’s going to be noise. They don’t just leave him there, they tell him what it is they’re going to be doing and get him involved as much as possible.

Wendy said that the home's staff were 'always happy'. 

‘They are a second family to all of my family and he has settled in so well. 

‘They are in regular contact if a problem arises and I can’t thank them enough,' she said.

'It is without doubt a very happy home for all the residents.’
