An architect at CCD Architects, he has been organising the St Peter Port Sketch Club over the past few years.
The group meet in different locations around the town to draw the buildings, streets and squares of St Peter Port.
Charlie explained: ‘The sketch club is a fun way of learning more about the history and development of the town of St Peter Port while improving drawing and observation skills’.
Many of the people who attend have no prior experience of drawing the urban environment and are surprised by what they begin to notice and how much their drawing skills improve.
This year all the drawings from the St Peter Port Sketch Club will be shown in a short exhibition at the George Crossan Galleries at the end of November, with support from Guernsey Arts.
Nominator Caitlin Grupping thanked Charlie for his efforts.
‘Focused on architecture, Charlie delivers some information on the history of the chosen spot, highlights any interesting architectural aspects and sends us on our way,’ she said.
‘It is free to attend and Charlie will show up rain or shine. He receives little to no thanks and simply does it to encourage people to get creative, admire our island, and socialise.
‘A true passion project. I believe Charlie deserves recognition for inspiring artists young and old.’
