Clean Earth Trust has been nominated for Sustainability Hero of the Year

The Clean Earth Trust was first established by Andrew Munro in 2018, who is both founder and chairman, before it began as the Pick It Up Guernsey campaign and since then the charity has thrived and succeeded in Guernsey. 

The whole team is delighted to be nominated and says that there are many wonderful community-minded people in Guernsey, and it is an honour to be nominated alongside them. 

‘I think the Clean Earth Trust is doing so much for Guernsey that it is slowly but surely improving our island’s environment,’ said their nominator who would like to remain anonymous. 

The Clean Earth Trust aims to limit human impact on the environment with initiatives including repair cafes, clothes swaps and sewing socials where the charity aims to encourage re-use and recycling. 

‘Sustainability is such an important issue for our time. It’s great fun trying to work out what small differences we can make on our little island. It is always hugely gratifying to see the willingness and enthusiasm of the many volunteers who take part in the initiatives,’ said Andrew.
