SION DELL has scored two nominations for Teacher of the Year at Les Varendes before he leaves the school this year.

SION DELL has scored two nominations for Teacher of the Year at Les Varendes before he leaves the school this year. 

‘It takes a certain level of masochism to be a teacher,’ he laughed upon being asked about his job. 

He received two nominations from pupils. ‘Mr Dell is an amazing teacher and he shows that he cares for his students,’ said one of his two nominators, Liva Le Cras. 

‘He has made a big impact on students’ lives and will continue that after he leaves. I will be very upset when he leaves because he makes school enjoyable and he makes me want to do maths. 

‘He makes school feel like a safe environment and I can talk to him about whatever I want. He has helped me a lot with my mental health, especially because my dad is unwell at the moment and he has cheered me up. 

‘His dad is also unwell at the moment and it is nice to have somebody around you going through similar things and he knows what to say to me when I am upset. 

‘He definitely deserves the award and more.'
