This nomination for Arts Contribution of the Year is ‘musicool’.
Abbie Forman is well known in the performing arts scene, both on stage and behind the scenes, with her initial stint at St Stephen’s Players from the age of eight to 11, before returning six years later.
After she returned and subsequently joined the committee, Abbie wanted to focus on building a strong performing arts youth group as part of St Stephen’s, as she believed it was important for future generations.
‘In 2022, Abbie decided to set up auditions for a new group called Musicool Kids – a singing and dancing group for children aged six to 18, which is when we first met,’ nominator Becca Le Carpentier said.
‘Abbie is amazing with the children, bringing together strangers and forming a beautiful friendship group – my child’s self-confidence and knowledge has grown immensely over the last two years and that is thanks to Abbie’s kindness and dedication to the group.’
Since its creation, Musicool Kids has performed at the North Show, fetes and old people’s homes with Abbie often directing and choreographing performances.
