Louise started painting back in 2019 and has continued to do so through her Guernsey Pubs series which she started in 2021. Louise enjoys making people happy through the memories her artwork evokes in people.
‘Her paintings are hard to describe, they look soft, warmer and friendlier,’ said Paul Gallie, her nominator. Paul bought a couple of Louise’s paintings several years ago and then asked Louise to create a painting for a colleague’s retirement.
'It could not have been better and to see the joy on his face because the painting he maintains was the best present ever,’ said Paul.
‘I do hope Louise will continue to create and inspire artists far and wide and of course locally here in Guernsey.'
‘I’m speechless,’ said Louise when she heard about her nomination.
Being able to paint her works has allowed Louise to grow in confidence and has allowed her to meet some lovely people, she said.
Louise has been working at Guernsey Arts for just under two years promoting the arts generally, alongside working on her own art.
