The bailiwick was displayed in the best light during Rosanne Guille’s latest exhibition called En Plein Air.
The local artist gathered 50 of her own oil paintings of around Guernsey and the islands, to put on display at Saumarez Park’s Art at the Park Gallery at the National Trust’s Folk Museum for three weeks following her successful exhibition in 2023.
As the exhibition drew to a close, Rosanne was able to sell a dozen of her pictures and was flooded with positive feedback – and now, the Sark painter has been nominated for Arts Contribution of the Year.
‘It feels really quite exciting and I am quite flattered,’ Rosanne said, when informed of her nomination.
‘I have just taken all of the paintings down and a lot of people had written in the visitor book – people came over from Sark to see it too which was lovely.’
Following her success, Rosanne has now been put forward to go to Alaska in the spring to paint with other artists.
