WHAT does customer service mean to Craig Duquemin, The Deerhound’s part-time front of house?
The now semi-retired hospitality worker, who has been employed in a managerial role by the Liberation Group for the past seven years, believes that it is not just about service, but an experience to make each customer feel special.
This outlook has been appreciated by Vanda Slann who said Craig makes you feel ‘like you are his best friend’.
‘The minute you walk in, he will come to you with a huge smile on his face [and] he’s always interested in you, what you have been doing since he last saw you, and is so friendly and accommodating.
‘Nothing is ever too much trouble – if there is anything you want or need, he will do his very best to make sure that it happens regardless.’
Prior to hospitality, Craig spent 18 years as a bank manager but jumped career after he dreamt about living in Spain – an aspiration that did eventually come to life.
‘You may enter the establishment feeling sad or down in the dumps, but the minute you encounter Craig, he brings a smile to your face and raises your spirits. He’s such a joy to be around.’
